Our great respect for this inn. Here, hikers and skiers are given the opportunity to have meals outside the home without pre-ordering when the winter weather is optimal. We were very enthusiastic about this service and were very happy to be offered something there even in Corona times. Kudos to the staff, who, despite the rush, still had a friendly word ready for the guest. We can only recommend the guest house!

Wonderful, delicious gastronomy in the middle of the forest that you don't know in some cities. Not to mention the friendly, courteous service. Just beautiful.

The guest house is located in a very quiet area in the Thuringian Forest. The rooms are neat and tidy. The staff is very friendly and tried hard to please the guests. The kitchen deserves a special mention. The food is excellent and the selection is great. Overall, the guest house and the restaurant are highly recommended for day visitors and longer stays. The guest house is located directly on many hiking trails.

We have been coming to Mönchhof for> 20 years. We cannot understand the negative criticism. The food was always delicious. Celebrations (New Year's Eve) were very pleasant. The service was always very friendly. We never got food from the microwave. We'd love to stay there again soon. We look forward to the delicious food. Anger family

Today we were actually going to collect mushrooms, unfortunately without success. I remembered that many years ago we were in the Indian area and there had to be an inn somewhere. I asked the Internet for the terms on the signposts and found GH again. All seats outside were taken, but we would be offered a seat inside. We opted for game goulash with dumplings and red cabbage, it was very, very tasty. Anyone who has something to complain about here really has no idea about good food and shouldn't take the space away from others. Hats off to the service that the friendly service provided here today. I found the prices completely okay for the quality of the food. One point deduction for the fact that not all of the operators had the mask on or not correctly, and I also wonder why no address lists are made. In the restaurant at the Rennsteig train station, all guests have to leave their address, which is important for everyone, because nobody wants to get Corona. We'll definitely be back soon. Food could be better. Seasoning meat was too firm. Very quiet location in the forest, suitable for hiking and accessible by car.

The accommodation is very nice and the hosts are very fond of animals. We were there on vacation for a few days with our dog Emma. The food can only be recommended, always freshly prepared, plentiful and inexpensive. Kudos to the kitchen. We'll definitely be back.

Spent a few days vacation with dog there for the second time this year. Very nice accommodation and nice hosts, you feel right at home there. The food tastes very good, it is mainly freshly prepared. The cake is baked by the boss herself. I don't understand the two bad recessions that speak of microwave food and overpriced dishes. These guests must have been elsewhere. Where can you get such an inexpensive roast roast with fried potatoes as there these days? We will definitely be back and thank the Schmidt family and their employees for the wonderful stay.

Was the last to eat in the Waldgasthaus, and was disappointed because all the food came from the microwave and was much too expensive. Unfortunately not to be recommended, I won't go there anymore. It's a shame, otherwise I always enjoyed going out to eat.

As always, it's beautiful here. You can hike great and then eat something delicious.

Although a bit out of the way, but worthwhile! We only drank coffee and ate a piece of cake and can only recommend it. There is also a pretty little garden and the pottery is not the 'typical monotony' that you already know!

I was here two consecutive evenings. And the food was always sensational. The location in the middle of the forest invites you to relax. Here I will definitely come back. Also very easy to reach by bike from the campsite. 😃
